Autumn is nearly upon us! We can’t get enough of the fall flavors, and what says fall better than pumpkin? Of course, there’s the typical pumpkin foods – pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, and the ever-popular pumpkin spice lattes. This recipe is the perfect way to get your pumpkin fix.
Pour the ingredients into a large sauce pan and stir with a whisk until thoroughly combined.
Place the pan over medium heat until bubbling, then reduce the heat to low and cook for 20 minutes.
Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon or spatula every minute or two to keep it from burning.
Let cool, then place into a lidded container and store in the refrigerator.
*Be sure to use pumpkin puree and not pumpkin pie filling! Otherwise, the pumpkin butter will be too sweet.
